What makes our caramel different?

All of our products are gluten free.  We use no preservatives, no additives, no chemicals, and no machines.  All our caramel is made, stirred, poured, cut and wrapped by hand.  Five base ingredients are in the salted caramel – If Great-Grandma didn’t use it, neither do we.  We take pride in our creative flavor profiles and strive to produce flavors you won’t find anywhere else.  Lastly, we are the only caramel company in the Intermountain West to make an all natural, chemical free sugar free caramel, as well as vegan caramel in multiple flavors.


How do you make caramel dairy free?

Our Vegan/Dairy Free caramel is made with coconut cream and Earth Balance vegan butter.  This combination is safe for all who are lactose intolerant or who don’t eat dairy or other animal products.

Where in the United States will we ship?

We will ship anywhere in the United States, like Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, New York, NY, Houston, TX, or even to little old Sherman, AK (with a population of 2).  We ship anywhere!

Why won’t you ship the popcorn and chocolate products to me?

The caramel popcorn is made with very few ingredients and no preservatives.  This means the popcorn is only good for two days, making it impractical for shipping.  The chocolate caramel items require special handling to prevent melting or discoloring, making it cost prohibitive to our customers to have shipped.  


What should I use with the caramel sauce?

Everything!  It pairs particularly well with: apples, bananas, pears, pretzels, coffee/cocoa, on ice cream, cakes, pies, cookies, and a spoon or your finger!  Do not refrigerate the sauce, even after it is opened.  It will last one year if kept in the pantry by the peanut butter and Nutella.  Sugar is a natural preservative which, combined with the canning process, allows it to stay fresh without refrigeration.  As we do not use chemicals or preservatives to prevent this, some separation of the butter from the sauce is normal and uncontrollable.  You are welcome to either mix it in or use the sauce on top.  


How do you make caramel without sugar?

We use coconut palm nectar and brown rice syrup in place of all refined sugars and corn syrup.  This flavor contains no chemicals, no sugar alcohols and coconut palm nectar has a glycemic index number of around 35.   

Do you have a storefront?

Can I order wedding favors or corporate gifts from Sugared?

How long will my caramel last?  

At room temperature, our caramel lasts between 6 to 7 days, depending on the temperature.  If frozen, it will last 2 to 3 months.  Never put caramel candy in the refrigerator!  The fridge is humid, the freezer is dry.  Caramel doesn’t like humid.  It will break down and crystallize.
